Cork County Public Participation Network – Have your say!!!

Cork County Public Participation Network (PPN) will be established in early 2015. We would strongly recommend that your voluntary community group/organisation should register by Wednesday, 4th February 2015 in order to be able to participate in the PPN setup process in Cork County.

The PPN is a new national initiative and will be the main link through which Cork County Council will engage with the community and voluntary, social inclusion and environmental sectors. It will be a two-way communication mechanism between the local authority and the community.

The Cork County PPN will be of interest to:

• Community and voluntary groups – e.g. local/community development associations, Tidy Towns, sports groups, clubs and associations
• Social inclusion bodies – e.g. tackling poverty, disadvantage, and the marginalised
• Environmental interests – e.g. environmental protection and sustainability

If the group/organisation you are involved with wishes to be part of the PPN, a short registration form must be completed. You can access the registration form at www.surveymonkey.com/s/GQ5YZ2K. If you wish to get a hard copy email corkcountyppn@gmail.com or phone 021 4285350 for a registration form.

Members of Cork County Community & Voluntary Forum
If your group/organisation is already registered with Cork County Community & Voluntary Forum you still need to register separately with the PPN.

Closing Date
If your organisation/group wishes to have a say in the establishment of the PPN, you need to register by Wednesday, 4th February 2015. Only those applicants who have registered by the deadline date, and who meet the necessary criteria, will be eligible to vote in the establishment of the PPN.

However, it is important to note that groups may register at any stage after 4th February 2015 also, but in such cases the groups will not be eligible to participate in the PPN setup process as they will have missed the cut-off date.

Please see the summary below and the documents attached for further information or contact Cork County Council at corkcountyppn@gmail.com or 021 4285350.

Once again we would strongly recommend that all voluntary groups and organisations should register by Wednesday, 4th February 2015 to ensure that the interests of your area and/or sector are represented during the establishment process.
