Public Lighting on the Rochestown to Passage West Cycleway

In relation to the public lighting on the Rochestown to Passage West cycleway  the Engineer in charge of lighting gave the following report at our recent area roads meeting.  The current status is Airtricity have fixed most of the lights on this walkway.  There are currently 6 number lights not working.  The planned remedial works are|: the 6 lights have been damaged severely and repair works will include replacing electronic gear as well as the lanterns.  These damaged lights are to be replaced by 55w White lights.  These lights will use less energy, (and cost less to run) than the lights which were installed initially.  These lights will be inspected after dark to check if they are then considered acceptable.  In the meantime, all lights have been made safe and there is no danger to the public.  If these lights haven’t been repaired within two weeks please email me again and I will chase up Airtricity and Engineer.
