Maryborough Hill Bus Stops upgrade funding granted by NTA

Just received confirmation of funding (€100,000) for Bus Stops on Maryborough Hill at Broadale & Maritime College Ringaskiddy. This project will provide four upgraded bus stop facilities for public transport users at key locations. This is long awaited good news for the people who have had to stand on the open road to access the bus service. This has been one of my key projects and I am delighted and grateful to the Minister Veradkar, Simon Coveney and Jerry Buttimer and Sen. Deirdre Clune for helping to push them on. Continue reading »

Update from Co. Mgr on Road Widening & Bus Standing Area Maryborough Hill

Readers will be aware that I am trying to drive this issue for a long time.  Last week I put a motion to seek the extact position and Im afraid Im tearing my hair out because there has been very little movement on the issue.

The Manager has informed us “that the Council has been in discussions with the Developer and for some time past in relation to the completion of these road works and has agreed in principle the works which are to be constructed by the Developer.  The approximate cost of the undertaking the road works is 700,000. Traffic Calming at entrance to Abbotswood

 During the Election residents of Abbotswood asked for some traffic calming at the entrance to their estate.  Eng has informed me that the
Poles have been erected, signs will go up next week. so hopefull that work has been done by now and will be of benefit to residents.
